My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cali: 11 Month Old Spayed Yellow Female Lab 50 Pounds

Cali is a purebred female yellow lab who is being relinquished to lab rescue as the resident male lab in the home has become increasing intolerant of Cali and become aggressive towards her. Cali’s energy level is likely too much for a senior dog (we suspect she is not getting a good outlet for her energy such as walks, hikes, etc.). She lives in a home with teenage children and a mom and dad. She is described by her owners as very happy and playful. She is housetrained and is an indoor dog. Cali has been trained in the home and knows commands such as sit, stay, come, off, and shake. Cali is unknown with cats. She enjoys car rides and also likes to swim. Cali will chew on the occasional shoe if left out. She has not shown any signs of separation anxiety or aggression. She will likely need a refresher on leash walking as it does not sound like she gets out of the home much.
What the foster has to say about Cali: Cali is doing great in her foster home. She is in a foster home that has other dogs and cats and she has not had any issues. The foster is a dog walker so Cali is getting out around many other dogs and as you can see from the photos she loves it! She loves to play fetch, loves the water, the foster mom has her crate trained and is working on her leash manners.
Health: She has a prior leg injury which has since healed, but we will have reviewed by our vet as well. She is up to date on vaccines and current is fed twice a day. She has all her shots and is microchipped. GGLRR’s vet is out of the office and we will get her into see him when he is back. Her leg does not slow her down!
She is located in Oakland.
If you are looking for a young active dog that needs training and regular exercise to be part of your pack please email Rescue Rep Liz at liz@jobshopsf.com or call 415-613-6374.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
