Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, April 1st from 12pm-4pm and Sunday, April 2nd from 12-3pm. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.
* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue
This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, April 1st from 12pm-4pm and Sunday, April 2nd from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.
Porsche is 10 month old Beagle mix. She weighs 13lbs. She has a smooth coat that doesn't require grooming other than just wash and go! Porsche is a sweet loving girl but initially with strangers she's quiet and reserved. She would be a great option for joining a home that has a confident dog already and she would follow right after them. Coming into a new home she needs that home that will give her space without crowding her and expecting her to meet a bunch of new folks or who want to hold her those first few days. Give her time to adjust and she'll come running to you!
Porsche gets along well with other dogs. She came into the rescue with her sister. They need to find their own separate homes as they are both so shy and will blossom once they are separated and with confident other dogs. Porsche is just learning to walk on the leash. She'll have it mastered in no time.
Porsche is not a barker. She is an option for living in an apartment or condo setting. She is best suited for a quieter type of environment as opposed to a rowdy, lots of commotion type of home.
She is only an option for those who have had a dog in the last 3 years. If there are kids in the home they need to be over the age of 9.
**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)
**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
