My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maddie was found running on a busy street dragging a red tie-out line behind her. She was taken to the local shelter to give her owner a chance to reclaim her. When that did not happen, EARS rescued her. Maddie is about 3 years old and weighs 19 pounds. She was extremely matted and would not let anyone touch her in certain places when we got her from the shelter. She was taken to the vet so they could sedate her while all the mats were shaved off. Maddie is a sweet dog who likes people. She gets along fine with the dogs in her foster home when they are all outside. She does not do as well when all the dogs are inside so we feel she would do best in a home with no other dogs. Maddie will need a home with a good fence so she will not be tempted to try to escape. If you love Schnauzers and have always wanted one, please contact us to find out more about Maddie.

We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be spayed or neutered, on heartworm prevention, and be primarily inside dogs or we will not consider your application to adopt. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
