Gary is a mellow and loving gentleman who just wants to sit in your lap and receive all of your love and attention. He is a cool cat who enjoys relaxing in his luxurious cat tree and chatting with you about current events.

When Gary arrived at HSTT he was diagnosed with diabetes, so he’ll require a little more care than your average cat, but Gary is far from your average cat! It won’t take long to be charmed by Gary’s awesome personality and genuine orange tabby swagger. On top of Gary’s awesome-ness he gets along with cats, dogs, and humans of all sizes and is the sweetest guy around! Gary can’t wait to find his permanent home so he can relax and enjoy all that a loving home has to offer.

See a video of Gary on www.hstt.org

Gary is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. His adoption fee is waived because you can’t put a price on a cat this cool.

About Humane Society of Truckee Tahoe

About Our Shelter...

The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is dedicated to saving and improving the lives of pets through adoption, community spay/neuter and humane education programs. Founded in 1994 by a group of committed volunteers, the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe has become the driving force in animal rescue and adoption for the Truckee region. Over time, we have grown from a small grass roots entity to a nationally recognized non-profit organization with seven employees and hundreds of dedicated volunteers.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our shelter is located at 10961 Stevens Lane in Truckee, and we are open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. We encourage potential adopters to come to the shelter to meet the animal they are interested in adopting during our public hours! Every pet adopted from the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated & microchipped.

Our Adoption Process...

Pet ownership is a serious responsibility. The policy of the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is to ensure that each person who adopts a pet not only is aware of the responsibility, but that each person is willing and able to accept that responsibility morally, physically and financially. Not every person who desires to own a pet should own a pet.

The adoption application is designed to help us make the best placement possible — the right home for each animal and the right animal for your home. The adoption process takes time because we are committed to giving you all the information and support you need to have a successful adoption. We ask for your patience and cooperation in the joyful process of bringing people and animals together.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN ADOPTION, YOU MUST:
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Provide a suitable confined area for the animal.
• Understand that the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe reserves the right to deny any adoption.

Our adoption fees are as follows: Dogs (over four months) = $100.00 Puppies (under four months) = $150.00 Cats (over four months) = $75.00 Kittens (under four months) = $100.00 Adoption fees will be due upon completion of adoption. Cash, check or credit cards are gladly accepted.
