My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tex is currently living in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.

Tex was a stray and wound up at the Harris County shelter. His life prior to being picked up must have been a little tough. In spite of being so young, he tested positive for heartworms and he had demodex mange. He was so thin and his coat was so sparse. He was a sweet, skinny mess, and one of the youngest volunteers for Lola’s Lucky Day fell in love with him!!! It was a good thing, because he had run out of time at the shelter.

Tex is a happy and active boy. He has been neutered, is up to date on his shots, and he has completed his heartworm treatment. He is currently 22 lbs and appears to be a lab or shepherd mix. Tex’s coat has filled in. His eyes sparkle! He is still very lean…but has gained a few pounds since he was at the shelter. He is a people pleaser! He also loves to be his foster mom’s shadow and wants to follow her around. He loves to run and play!!! He loves other dogs! He really would do best in a home that he could find the perfect playmate! His current foster siblings are all on the smaller than he is. I think that he might make a great companion for another good natured and playful dog!!!! Tex loves toys! All toys!!!!!!!!
Tex is crate trained and house trained. His foster home in Texas has a dog door and he is great about using it. Tex has not been around cats or children in his current foster home. He will sleep through the night in his kennel. If he knows that you are awake….he is good about reminding you to get him out of his kennel. He will bark so you don’t forget!!! Tex loves to go for rides in the car. Are you ready to fall in love with Tex?
