My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Casanova is a young hamster who had a rough start in life. First, he was bought at a pet store as a gift for a toddler, and then, he lived in a tiny cage being neglected whenever he wasn’t being terrorized. Now safe, Casanova is looking for a forever home where he will be appreciated, and where he can receive the proper care that he needs. 
Given his history, Casanova is understandably still wary of people, and thinks those intruding hands to be a threat. Our volunteers are working with him daily, getting him to relax, trust, and learn to be loved. He is already showing tremendous progress, as he will twist and turn, and rub his chubby little body all over the cage bars when he is spoken softly to. He loves getting lower back scratches, and will arch his back to its full extent. But, then, he realizes a human hand is doing that, and will jump out in fear, and has, on a few occasions, nipped us. Only seconds later, he is back for more back scratches, and the fun and games start up again. 

From the short time we have known Casanova, we can see how hungry he is for love, and how big his need to be held is. Casanova would benefit greatly from an experienced hamster guardian, who can put in the time, and allow Casanova to come out of his shell, and lastly share all the love he has stored up. To learn more about Casanova, our adoption procedures, and housing requirements, please get in touch.
