My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Elfie is a young, friendly hamster, rescued by Empty Cages Collective after her former guardian became overwhelmed with an accidental litter. This ingenious little girl has been known to put in the time and effort, figure her environment, and come out with the most effective way of rearranging everything, so that she can escape. It is entertaining, and challenging to keep up with Elfie, trying to give her new fun activities, and to keep her in one place. When she does escape, she doesn't go far at all, as it is not about escaping, as much as it is about showing us her smarts, and becoming even more adorable in the process. You would never know that a true escape artist, and born contortionist is hiding within that beautifully curvaceous body of hers. And, to top off her seemingly endless charm and appeal, Elfie is trusting, affectionate, and completely at ease when being held by our volunteers. In fact, she seems to think that stretching out, and napping in someone's hands, is a perfectly ordinary activity to do, and she likes to do it as often as possible.
