* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue

This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, April 1st from 12pm-4pm and Sunday, April 2nd from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.

Fusion is an 8 month old Cavalier mix who weighs 13lbs. He is on the shyer side initially with strangers. He will watch rather than run up to people he doesn't know. He makes sure you're friend and not foe. If you ignore him, then he really wants your attention and affection! Fusion is a lover boy once he is comfortable with his people. He is a velcro type of dog. He may never be a huge fan of strangers but he will be his person's one and only.

Fusion listens well and he wants to be loved. It just takes that experienced home that isn't in his face but rather lets him acclimate to a new home and family slowly. If he dictates the pace it will be a lot quicker than a human trying to force him to love.

Fusion sleeps through the night in his crate.  He's a mellow, low-key sort of pup who's content to just hang out next to his foster mom on the couch or gaze out the window.  Fusion is a fan of treats and loves to have something to munch on!

Fusion gets along well with other dogs. He currently lives with big and little ones. He is an option for doggy day camp or the dog park. He is also an option to join a home with another dog. If there are kids in his future home they will need to be over the age of 12.

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)

**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.

About Doggie Protective Services (DPS) - Palo Alto

About Our Rescue Group...

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.

Our Adoption Process...

Doggie Protective Services is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization. Our rescued dogs and cats live in foster homes until we can find them appropriate, responsible, loving homes. We carefully screen potential adoptors through an application and interview process. We are a community-based group and invite you to check out our website at www.dpsrescue.com or our very active Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/DPSRescue and keep in touch with real-time adoptions at www.twitter.com/dpsrescue
