My name is Bonita!

Chihuahua Dog for adoption in Lehigh, Florida - Bonita

I found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Bonita's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and good with dogs.

Bonita's Story...
She is a very small little girl who has had a life of neglect. When she arrived she had a fist size hernia. Apparently that hernia Had been in place for a very long period of time causing her to walk with her legs far apart in the back. Not only was the hernia present but she also has two bad knees on her back legs . She is about 6 pounds and we think she's anywhere from 5-8 Years old. She has been brought up to date on all of her vaccinations, spayed and has been tested for heartworms and is negative. Surgery has been given to fix the hernia and at that time a second hernia was also found and has been repaired. Bonita walks with her back legs further apart than normal and we are hoping in time since the hernia has been removed her walk will become better. Bonita is located in the Fort Myers Florida area and with Senior Paws Sanctuary . If interested in meeting Bonita please fill out an application at
Due to her size and leg issues we do not recommend small children in the home. Bonita's adoption fee is $200 and a home visit will be required. This rescue does not adopt out of the state of Florida

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bonita, a Lehigh Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Lehigh, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Lehigh.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lehigh already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lehigh breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lehigh paves the way for another one to be saved.
