Cooper has an angel!!!  Thank you Morgan Brendel!  SCMR thanks you and so does Cooper.

Super Dooper Cooper!

Look at that face! What a super cute little guy! You'd never know he's 11 years old! Cooper is a little tubby at 9.3 pounds, but he's trimming up a bit. He came into rescue with a couple of bladder stones that were causing him a lot of pain and difficulty, but he has successfully had them removed and is happily recovering. There is sure a little more pep in his step now!  Cooper loves his Life's Abundance food and eats enthusiastically. He's also house-trained, but he still likes to go outside and run around.

Cooper has a little fatty area around his heart but does not have congestive heart failure. He gets a tiny 1/4 pill of benazapril a day and will be on that for the rest of his life. His bloodwork was very good, and he's generally healthy with luxating patellas in his back legs. This is very common in older Maltese, but just because his knees tend to pop out doesn't slow him down or seem to cause him any pain. He only lost 1 little tooth in his dental...teeth cleaned up beautifully!

Cooper came from a shelter in Spartanburg, SC where he was turned in by his owner who couldn't take care of Cooper's medical needs. He's a lovely boy and just wants to be someone's little buddy. Cooper would do best as an only dog.  Foster mom has no cats, so Cooper has not been cat tested.

He's hanging out in Chattanooga, TN, until his forever family comes to take him to his forever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cooper*Adopted, a Chattanooga Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Chattanooga, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Chattanooga.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chattanooga already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chattanooga breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chattanooga paves the way for another one to be saved.
