My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ella is a fabulous mostly white elder that doesn't look or act her age at all! She is a very shy girl who will need parents who are very patient with her as she gets used to her surroundings to spend her retirement years in.  She is wary of people and other animals at first, until she feels part of the pack.  When nervous she will pace around the house, or will find a comforting area when she hears someone coming.  Once she realizes who has come to visit her, she changes her mind and comes looking for some love.

Ella loves to lounge on her heated comfy bed. She loves to be petted and enjoys sitting on the couch with humans at her leisure. She enjoys long walks, and gets excited when she hears that leash come out. She needs a little push to get outside the house sometimes, but on nice days she enjoys sunning on the deck. She is pee pad trained and is pretty reliable with that most of the time (just like any other iggy). All-in-all she is a sweetheart, with the best teeth on the block.

Ella is a slow eater and came to the rescue only eating once a day. You can leave water and food out for her and she will nibble on it whenever she likes. She is not food aggressive at all, and food also does not motivate her. She has started to eat with the other dogs in the house after a couple weeks.  She is a very independent dog in most aspects, and doesn't feel the need to be around them constantly.   She could be in a household either by herself or with other calm dogs.  She recently had her teeth cleaned, and is current on shots too.  Overall, the vet said she is a very healthy girl.
