Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Honeybun!
Honey bun is a sweet 4-5 year old 15lb beagle type mix. She is a timid girl who was rescued from a hoarding situation (so she is still figuring things out right now). She is a sweet girl though who is doing great with house training and is crate trained. She is also great with other doggies. With time we are sure she will blossom into a loving family member.
From her foster mom:
I have been fostering Honeybun for the past week. She has started to come out of her shell a bit which is nice to see. She is so sweet and loves to snuggle. She is timid so will come over to you on her own terms.
--She is good with my dog even though my dog is not ready to hang with her yet...lol, good with both my children (13,9) as well as my husband and myself. We have also had several visitors and although she does not go up to greet them she is very receptive to being pet by them.
--She does not like to go outside, however, is definitely getting curious but quickly runs away and hides when I try to put her harness on. She loves to cuddle, have not seen her play with any toys, loves treats (who doesn't) and loves being pet, she also follows me around the house constantly.
--She enjoys laying on the couch and has not shown too much of a playful side yet as I think she is still feeling things out. I think it is in there!
--She is still learning to like being outside and will only use pee pads as of now
--She does bark along with my dog when we get home.
--We have been putting her in the crate at night and allow her to stay out with our dog during the day (closing all the bedroom/bathroom doors) She has not gotten into any trouble.
--No food issues.
--Loves belly rubs.
JUNE UPDATE!
She still does not walk well with a harness or leash but loves to go into the yard with me. She has been peeing outside each time I take her! She would do best with an adopter that has an enclosed yard to really let her run around and would do great having the companionship of another dog.
Want to adopt a FWFP pup? Fill out our online adoption application by visiting our website: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html
**Please note that our dogs may be located in foster homes around NJ and the NYC area. It would be a great help to us if you can pick up your dog from transport, which is centrally located from Northern NJ and NYC, or foster home.**
**PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR PHONE NUMBER IN YOUR INQUIRY** We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them. Please do not submit an inquiry if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process.
Our adoption fee is $475. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses.
All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where it is kept for a minimum of 2 weeks for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. After the 2 week quarantine time they are spayed/neutered and fully vetted. They are then placed on the website. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested in it, we make arrangements with the waiting foster to pick the animal up from the airport to then meet with the potential adopter. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
