Missy is a full blooded Havanese looking for a forever home.  Missy the light one is very playful and has the cutest personality.   Missy was a breeding dog and has had limited human interaction so is timid yet. However that is changing daily.  She is about 4 years old. She is a very happy dog  and get so excited when you come home.  The tail is wagging and she can't wait to lick your hand!!  She has not been leash trained yet but does wear a collar  and we have started to do a bit of leash work.  Right now she freezes when you get a harness and leash on her so we are going slow..letting her get comfortable.  She is not housebroke yet and I'm working on it but she really needs someone home all day that can take her out frequently so she gets the idea.  She does use the potty pad quite a bit.   She has been spayed, all vaccines up to date and she's microchipped.  We'd love to see her with a retired or stay at home person(family) so she can complete her training but she is great alone.  We have her in an Expen when gone she does fine in it.

We'd prefer a home  with no small children only because they move fast and with her limited exposure to humans that is a bit scary for her.  She does well around other animals so homes with cats or dogs are great!  Another dog would be ideal as she's not used to being alone.

She is currently fostered in Ferndale!

About Main Street Mutt Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small rescue that was founded after saving one dog. We bring most of our dogs from high kill shelters in other states, vet them, get the spayed or neutered and ready for adoption. We do this because we love dogs and we are not happy with the fact that so many healthy dogs are being killed. We can't change the world but we can change the life of some of these poor dogs!!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are foster based so please contact us to arrange meeting any of our animals. Our dogs are spread out around the area in foster homes to help them relax, help us evaluate where they are in behaviors and to get them used to living in a home if they've not before.

Our Adoption Process...

Our process starts with a person finding a dog they are interested in and filling out an application on our website.. Once approved we will work with you to find the dog of your choice or set up a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in. We will work hard to get the right fit with your family and set you up for success! Once you have found the dog we then can either foster with potential to adopt or just adopt depending on the situation. No pet is final adopted until they are fixed. Our requirements are over 21, and have a legitimate income. We evaluate each family and dog based on their individual situations so please don't be afraid to talk to us..
