Chase's Story...
Chase is a 4 year old border collie seeking a savvy home! He originally lived in Chicago, IL but came to Winston-Salem, NC to be with EHDR as his owner could no longer provide proper exercise for him. Chase is medium energy and would do very well in a hiking/hobby sport home. Chase is dog friendly, house trained, crate trained, starting basic obedience, and rides well in the car. Chase has been going to doggy daycare for years and does great in that environment. Chase is mildly leash reactive (herding stimulation) so a session with a professional dog trainer will be included with his adoption! He is also fully vaccinated, Heartworm negative/on prevention, and neutered.

Located in Winston Salem, NC

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chase, a Richmond Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
