Charles ADOPTION PENDING's Story...
Charles #6446 is an adorable 6-year-old male, Shih Tzu mix. This is pint-sized pup has a giant personality! Charles arrived with his hind left leg mangled from a prior injury and unfortunately his leg had to be amputated. Having three 3 legs doesn’t hold him back! He is working on climbing the stairs in his foster home, but of course, he prefers to be carried. He loves attention and people. He is working on crate training and house training and his foster mom reports he does very well on a set schedule. He walks great on a leash and enjoys strolls around the neighborhood. He will do best in a home where he is the one and only dog. He does not care for cats. He weighs 4 pounds and is full-grown. Due to his petite stature, he would do best on a home with older children. This pup is microchipped. We believe you can always teach an “old” dog new tricks so we highly recommend continued obedience training for this smart pup; it stimulates the dog's mind and establishes a good dog/adopter relationship. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption form, downloadable from our website: and return it per instructions. Email with questions. Charles will not attend adoption events and is available to meet by appointment only.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Charles ADOPTION PENDING, a Waldorf Shih Tzu puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Waldorf, or seeking a Shih Tzu puppy from a breeder in Waldorf.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waldorf already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waldorf breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waldorf paves the way for another one to be saved.
