Mya's Story...
Pretty Mya is a sweet dog who was found on the streets of Chicago and has spent the last year in foster homes while looking for her forever home. She deserves a second chance and is looking for a family that will help her to become the best dog that she can be!This energetic young girl is about 3 years old and loves to play! A home with an experienced family that can devote time to additional training would be best for her. She is sweet and loves too cuddle after she gets worn out which takes a lot right now. She does pull hard to try to get to other dogs when are out for walks but has started to respond well to her foster family pulling her away and saying "leave it". She is coming along on the basic 3 (sit, stay and come) as well.

She does love to get new toys but they don't last long as She loves to destroy them.

Mya will only be placed into a forever home that is located within 1.5 hours of Lake & McHenry Counties in Illinois...(sorry, NO exceptions).** If you are interested in opening up your home to Mya, please visit our website at and fill out an application. A volunteer will contact you. Thank you for your interest!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mya, a Cary American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Cary, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Cary.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cary already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cary breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cary paves the way for another one to be saved.
