My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BERTIE - Setter mix, female, 5 years, 85 lbs. We will be honest when we say we have no idea what genetics went into making this beautiful girl, but the result is a smart and loving dog! Bertie has excellent house manners and enjoys a daily walk; she does not need to be crated although if food is left out on counters she is sure to find it! Bertie is great in the car and a happy girl overall, but she is too interested in chasing cats to live with them unfortunately. Bertie was placed and lived as an only dog so we're still getting to know what canine friends she will enjoy, but at a recent meet and greet she was just fine with a mellow male dog. She is a take-charge kind of gal, so an easy-going male would most likely be the best kind of companion for her. Of course she would be perfectly happy as an only dog! Bertie does require an adult only home, and a fenced yard is preferred. To meet her is to love her; she is a great companion. Bertie's adoption fee has been sponsored.

** If you are interested in adopting this dog, you must first complete an adoption application at http://peppertree.org/adoptapp.php. Or visit our site (http://peppertree.org/adoptlist.php) and learn about other Peppertree dogs. *Note: visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
