Coconut's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Coconut's Story...
Coconut flew all the way from Puerto Rico to find a family! Coconut is very sweet and loves to be held, sit on your lap, and be cuddled! He is very friendly and loves everyone he meets. He does well with other dogs, and would most likely do well with cats. He goes with the flow and is low maintenance. You may see he has a special smile- he was born with a cleft palate. This doesn't stop him from eating though, we actually think his smile is quite cute!
If you would like to meet Coconut, please go to our website to read about the adoption process and fill out an adoption application. www.furkidrescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Coconut, a Pittsburgh Maltese/Bichon Frise dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese/Bichon Frise for sale in Pittsburgh, or seeking a Maltese/Bichon Frise dog from a breeder in Pittsburgh.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pittsburgh already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pittsburgh breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese/Bichon Frise breeders who help with Maltese/Bichon Frise rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pittsburgh paves the way for another one to be saved.
