Facts about Punky

  • Breed: Papillon/Pomeranian Mix
  • Color: Tricolor (Tan/Brown & Black & White)
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Female
Punky is 1-2 years of age, and flew here all the way from Puerto Rico to find a home! She was a street dog, and wandered into a gas station. Her owners never came looking for her. Punky will be easy to train, as she LOVES treats and is food motivated! She can be shy at first, but once she trusts you, she will attach herself and be your best friend! Punk loves to play, and is good with other dogs. she would most likely do well with cats as well. She weighs just around 8 lbs. Since she was a street dog, it was no surprise to us when she tested positive for heart worms. We are in the process of treatment, and if she were adopted prior to being finished with treatment, FurKid covers all costs.
If you would like to meet Punky, please go to our website to read about the process and FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION.
Punky's adoption fee is $450

About Furkid Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Furkid Rescue is a small, private home-based rescue located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We officially started our organized rescue efforts in the spring of 2008, but have been rescuing and working with other rescue groups and local shelters for over 5 years. We take in mainly Pit Bull puppies who have been rescued from gas kill pounds, animal control facilities, backyard breeders, or people who are no longer able to keep their pets. We rarely take in owner’s surrenders unless we find that the owner has a valid reason for abandoning the pet. Furkid Rescue will also save other breeds when there is room in one of our breed-experienced foster homes. You may see mastiffs, chihuahuas, or a fabulous mutt who needs a wonderful home! Please visit our main site to read more about our rescue, our adoption process, and to download an adoption application.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not have a physical location. We try to give our animals the best foster experience possible, not only for their comfort, but to implement training and make sure they are getting the best care imaginable. Once you are approved for an meet and greet, we are more than willing to bring the dog to your home so that you can spend time with the dog(s) of your choice

Our Adoption Process...

There is always an adoption fee to cover medical expenses such as spay/neuter/shots/pound fees.
There is a home check and contract that is required to adopt a dog.
