Dakota is such a sweet girl she really is a doll. She learned her name pretty quick. She’s such a cuddle bug and loves to be rubbed and kissed on. She just eats up all the attention. I have not had her around any small kids. I’m sure she would do great since she is very friendly. She is great with other dogs. She loves to run around and play tag with other dogs. She gets along with my cat. She was very curious about the cat when we first got her. I would keep her in the kennel and my cat would just stare at her. I would take her out of the kennel but keep her on a leash and let her smell my cat but only for small periods of time. She went outside to potty and my cat was already outside and she got a bit too close to her and I believe my cat hissed and scratched at her and that was all it took to have the cats respect. Now she makes sure she doesn’t get to close to the cat. Dakota likes to sit in your lap while watching tv. Not sure if she understands that she in not little but we still baby her and love on her. She is great with people in general I have had company on several occasions and she is very friendly and loves getting attention. She has gotten attached to my 16 year old daughter. She follows her everywhere and sleeps with her. When we first picked up Dakota she was very scared and skittish as well as very thin. She would gobble up her food in minutes and always seemed to be hungry all the time. She is fed regularly and will get in her kennel when she knows it is time to eat. We have lost track of time a couple of times on the weekend and didn’t realize it was time for her to eat but she was already waiting in her kennel.
She also is not food aggressive. We bought her toys when she first came to stay with us and she would just look at them but after being around my dog she has learned to play and chew on them.
Dakota was very scared of getting in the car and we would have to pick her up and put her in the car. Now she jumps in the car when she knows that we are going for a ride or to the park to walk.
