My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Cyra and I'm looking for my forever home! I am a plott hound, although you can also call me a "Plop Hound" as I love to plop my belly on the cool floor and assume my "froggy leg" position. I love all humans and haven't met a dog yet that I didn't like. I'm a big girl weighing in at 75 lbs but I'm not a bully. I like to run and play but sometimes I don't realize how big and strong I am while playing. It's all in fun but I would probably get along better with younger energetic dogs or be an only dog as long as the family is active and likes to do stuff like hike, hunt, run or go to the park. I would be a great running companion as I don't seem to run out of energy too easily. I also like water and jumped right in my foster family's pool !

I get along great with everyone, but because I like to play so much and have a lot of energy, I probably shouldn't be around really small children or older dogs as I might knock them over. When it's time to come inside I have pretty good manners and respond to “No” pretty well. I am house trained and will let you know when I need to go outside by standing by the door or even ringing a bell that my foster family has hanging on the door knob! I have been trained at some point in my life and I know how to sit, shake hands and will lay down on command. I am crate trained and will sleep there all night without a fuss, but I don't always like when it's bed time. I'm working on that and getting better about going in my crate.

I'm a good watchdog and will let you know when there is someone outside the house but I don't bark very much at all. I get along great with my foster brother and sister, but I don't really know about cats. I'm a very smart girl, I am very trainable and treat responsive. I'm pretty good on a leash. I do pull a little bit but I'm easily reminded not to do that. My foster family took me to Pet Smart and Home Depot and I loved seeing all the people. I would just lay down in the floor while my foster parents shopped.

I love to cuddle and will be a big lap dog if you let me. I'm very affectionate and love licking my humans and my foster brother and sister too. I love to play with toys and bones too and like to tease my foster sister with bones and toys. It's all fun though and if she really wants them, I will let her have them.

Please come meet me and let's see if you can be my forever family. I promise that you won't be disappointed.

Cyra is a Plott Hound mix with an estimated DOB of August 2014. She is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated and weighs 75 pounds.
