Hello! My name is Gengar, and I'm named after the Pokemon character! I had a rough start to life, but now I am really moving my way up in the world! I originally came from a hoarder house that was about to be demolished. I used to live in the yard of that house, with my siblings, and my foster Mommy trapped us the night before they tore the house down! Mommy had the owner's permission, he wanted us to have a better life, and he knew this is the way to do that!

I am a sweet natured orange tabby. My coat was in very rough shape when I was trapped, but I got medicine and good food and now my coat is growing back in and proving to be very pretty! I can be very shy at first, and would need a home that would give me time to adjust. It just takes me some time to know that it's safe for me around new people. I am food motivated, and because my foster Mom gave me time to adjust to being with her, now when she comes in the room I get all excited and climb my cat tree and waiting for treats and pets from her! I love wet food and coming running for that too. I enjoy playing with toys, especially toys on a string! I could play with foster Mommy and that string toy forever. I don't like being picked up but I will purr and flip on my back when you give me pets! Lots of kitties don't like being picked up, but that doesn't mean we aren't affectionate! I'm a really special boy, and I stand up reallllllly tall to reach the dangly cat toy!

I get along great with other kitties, I'm fostered around a good number of kitties, all with different personalities and I do great with them. I like the run around and play with the younger one who likes to play as much as I do! I haven't been around my foster Mommy's big dog, too much. She walks by me and I don't panic, but I would do best in a home with older respectful doggies or with an owner who knows to very slowly introduce dogs and cats.

I'm fixed, up to date on my shots, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, on flea preventative and dewormed! My adoption fee is only $50!

If you would like to know more about me, please email my foster Mom at Just email her and she can make sure I'm there to meet you!

About Rescuing Animals In Need

About Our Rescue Group...

R.A.I.N. is dedicated to rescuing cats and dogs from local animal shelters, individuals who no longer want or cannot care for their pets, and animals who live their lives as strays. Our mission is to help the animals that we can, knowing that every single one that we save makes a difference. Volunteers work to care for, socialize, protect, medicate, and above all, love, these deserving animals. We are always in desperate need of foster homes for cats and dogs. The more temporary housing we can provide, the more lives we can save.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Adoptions are at petSmart, 4510 South Us 17-92, Casselberry FL. Adoptions are Saturdays and Sundays, 11-5. We also have an adoption center within the PETsMART where you can view just a few of our available pets during regular store hours!

Our Adoption Process...

Prospective Adopters must fill out an adoption application, either online at our website or by visiting us at PETsMART on the weekends. You must then meet with one of our counselors for a personal interview. At this time you can meet your desired pet as well. We may ask questions about your current situation, such as if you own any other animals and how you care for them. Every situation is unique, and we want you to have the pet that's right for you!
