Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Magic was brought to us by a woman who was completely fed up with him. She explained that her neighbors had abandoned him and he kept eating her dog's food. She said she could hardly afford to feed her dog much less this stray cat. He was about 10 months old, not neutered, starving, and injured. Just what we were looking for! ;-) When we took him in to be neutered and have his injured paw looked at, we found out that he was also FIV positive. (Just to be clear, that's not Leukemia, it's Feline Aids, and it's strictly a Feline thing...it cannot be passed to humans or other species.) It is passed from cat to cat mainly by a deep, penetrating bite wound, thus it's more common amongst unneutered, outdoor cats who are fighting for territory or having sex. In 2001, I read an article in Best Friends magazine called FIV, Catching a Bad Case of Rumors. When I finished reading, I set the magazine down a changed person. I realized that I'd been an idiot. I went into the shelter the next day and adopted an FIV + kitty I'd been in love with for three years. He lived with me and my 10 other cats for the next five years. He shared my cats food, water, and litter boxes. He groomed them and played with them. They all test negative to this day. Another volunteer at the shelter had an FIV cat for 18 years. None of her other cats ever tested positive. Obviously, I could go on and on, but what you should be asking yourself is, "Do you believe in Magic?"
