An adoption application on LILY can be found here

Please email the completed application to weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.

LILY is just the delicate flower her name suggests. This precious angel doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She adores other dogs and is instantly comfortable with them. She can be best friends with any size pup of any age. She is equally content lounging on the doggie bed or romping through the yard playing ball. Sweet LILY is timid with new people but is always kind, even when afraid. Growling or snapping just isn't in her nature.
LILY is potty trained and doesn't chew on things that don't belong to her. She also is perfectly quiet and relaxed in her crate when her foster mom is away from home. LILY shares her foster home with 3 human children and is delicate as a lamb with them. LILY is 2, but her eyes have incredible depth that make her look wise beyond her years. She is quite the petite package as well weighing 45-50 lbs. The person who gives this girl a lifetime of affection and patience will be rewarded exponentially with a full heart and endless adoration from LILY.

LILY's forever home must have another dog because she is most comfortable with a friend(s).
She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Her $450 adoption fee includes her interstate health certificate and transport to New England after she is adopted.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

LILY, a Plainfield Boxer/Boston Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/Boston Terrier for sale in Plainfield, or seeking a Boxer/Boston Terrier dog from a breeder in Plainfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Plainfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Plainfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/Boston Terrier breeders who help with Boxer/Boston Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Plainfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
