Here's what the humans have to say about me:
NOTE: This is a courtesy posting for another rescuer. Please do not contact ARRF, as we do not know this pet personally. Meet this pet at the Department of Animal Services, 5480 Gaines Street, San Diego 92110.
Charger is a 5-year old neutered, black with white Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull mix who weighs 52lbs. He is great because he can be energetic and playful for a little while (he loves toys and balls), then he quickly relaxes and just likes to lie by your feet. Poor Charger was returned for destroying some netting when he was left alone on a boat. He needs a stable home where he gets lots of time and attention. It seems when left alone for long periods, he gets anxious and tries to get out to find his person!
Charger is so very smart though - he already knows "sit", "down", and "high five" and is very motivated with treats. With continued training and a stable home, Charger will make a wonderful friend and companion.
Charger is soon going to need to get his teeth cleaned and possibly get a few pulled out since his original owner didn't get him the dental care he needed. So, as you can tell, Charger needs a break! He needs a dedicated person who will love him, give him quality time, and help with his veterinary needs. He is well worth it though; he deserves a second chance and deserves a loving home for the rest of his life. Will you be Charger's angel?
When you see Charger in the kennel, he might be barking, but that's because he wants to come out. He does not like being in a kennel - who would? Also when you meet him outside, pick up all the toys in the little yard. Charger LOVES toys and since he doesn't know you yet, he might seem more interested in toys than in you. Rest assured though, once Charger gets to know you, he is your best buddy.
Meet this pet at County of San Diego Department of Animal Services, 5480 Gaines Street, San Diego 92110. Open Tuesdays - Sundays, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm. Closed Mondays and holidays.
