Gray tabby, short hair, male, born approx. 7/22/15, #12584

Rue was living with a man who loved him and the other cats there very much. Unfortunately, he became ill with terminal cancer and was no longer able to care for any of his animals. His daughter contacted The Rescue House and asked if we could help out.

Rue is a fun and enthusiastic guy who is quick to bring a smile to the face of the person watching his playful shenanigans. He’s happy to get attention and quite happy to play, though there is one stipulation: those two things need to not overlap for Rue. Playtime is for toys and wands and jumping around; petting time is for hands and gentle calm interactions. If they are mixed, Rue can get overstimulated and may get nippy even though he isn’t trying to be mean.

Rue has lived with a number of other cats and does well so long as they don’t mind him being a bit in their faces with his youthful enthusiasm... he hasn’t quite learned to respect boundaries. We don’t know his thoughts on dogs, though we feel Rue would be better suited to a home with adults or older children who will understand the separation of petting and playtime and give him consistent guidance.

Rue is a charming kitty who just needs a bit of help figuring out what’s appropriate when. However, for the person willing to give him that guidance, there will be so much love and fun!

About THE RESCUE HOUSE

About Our Rescue Group...

The Rescue House is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to assisting cats through its rescue, foster and adoption activities. We find loving homes for unwanted, abandoned, homeless and abused cats. We open our arms to cats that need assistance, regardless of age and often regardless of handicap. We find good homes for every cat that we take in - we are a true no-kill cat rescue organization.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We at The Rescue House believe that we can contribute to the welfare of our furry friends by implementing an Adoption Program. Our Adoption Centers are located in retail pet stores whose philosophy agrees with The Rescue House's mission. A list of the adoption centers can be found here: http://www.rescuehouse.org/adoption-centers.html

Our Adoption Process...

All prospective adopters must complete an application and be interviewed as part of the adoption process.
