My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oliver is a sweet, sweet approx. 2 year old boy. He loves and craves attention. His favorite pastimes have been, doggy wrestling with his golden foster sibling, playing tag with the 10 month old kitten in the house and chewing on the big Nyla bones. While outside, the frequent squirrel visitors to the bird feeder have to wait until Oliver goes back inside. He will let
them know "games on" if they enter the yard on his watch.

Oliver walks well on a leash, he just stays in line with the other 2 dogs. Crate training came easy and was a must. Oliver, if left alone at home, will find something on his own to chew.

Oliver has tested positive for Heartworm and is being treated now. He'll need to be on a no activity regimen for 30 days post treatment while he recovers and on a low activity regimen for 6 months. Both his treatment and blood test after 6 months are paid for by GRFR at one of our contracted vets. Oliver's forever family will need to be sure he takes a monthly heartworm preventative year round. Some people might be leery of a dog like Oliver who has had heartworm, but there is no need to be. It is both curable and preventable.
