Facts about Rocky

  • Breed: Pug
  • Color: Unknown
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: R1060
Handsome Rocky was relinquished to us by his owner because she could no longer take care of him. This little cutie is a "tripod"; he's missing a back leg due to a car accident. As a result, he has some nerve damage in that area and can't control when or where he eliminates. Initially, we were expressing him several times per day to be sure his bladder got emptied, but with the help of new meds, he doesn't need our help - but he still can't control when and where he goes. Rocky adores taking walks and he's fast for a 3-legged Pug! Show him the leash and runs to you. He does well with other dogs for the most part, but he would definitely need to be the alpha if there is already an existing dog in the home. He does require a medicated bath once per week due to a skin allergy, as well as grain-free food. Although Rocky is considered somewhat "special needs", he is more than worth the extra care. He is so loving and just wants to be with his human getting cuddles and attention. Besides, who can resist a tripod Pug with a snaggle-tooth??!

About Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles

About Our Rescue Group...

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Please see our website for upcoming Adoption Fairs. We have two standing fairs at Tailwaggers, 801 N. Fairfax Ave in West Hollywood - the 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday of every month. We are in Northridge every other month and at various sevents - check our event calendar for up-to-date info!

Our Adoption Process...

We require an application either online through our website or in person at our facility or one of our events. Once we receive the application we will schedule a home visit. After approval, you are eligible to adopt any available dog. Our fees range from $85 - $500 depending upon age. $500 would be for a pure pug puppy (which we rarely get), $85 would be for a mixed breed over 8 years old.
