Chi Chi's Story...

Meet Chi Chi, a two year old Rat Terrier Mix who weighs 8#s.  She is crate trained and potty trained, has enjoyed hanging out with the big dogs or just napping on the back of the couch while her fosters watch television.

She is heartworm positive, scheduled for treatment on March 13th, which is covered by the rescue.  She will have medicine to take for a month, but will all be provided by the rescue.

Her adoption fee is $200, which covers all shots, spay, microchip and first month of heartworm preventative, in addition to heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in learning more about this sweet girl, please visit us at www.a4apetpantry.org to fill out an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chi Chi, a Hillsboro Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Hillsboro, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Hillsboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hillsboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hillsboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hillsboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
