My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dory! She is a small terrier mix with a huge spirit! Dory was set to be killed at the shelter. When we saw her video, we just didn't have the heart to let that happen to her - have her life end at the hands of uncaring shelter personnel in a cold room, all alone with no love around her. We got her out of that environment and took her straight to the groomers. She emerged as a new dog, full of life and eager to experience what's still in store for her.

Dory is estimated at about 10-12 years young. She does have advanced cataracts so her vision is impaired. She still has her hearing and a healthy appetite! Dory will go on a short, slow walk and seems to enjoy the sunshine. If given guidance and access to outdoors, she is potty trained. Dory is missing some back teeth so while she can eat kibble, it should be softened with warm water.

Dory would prefer to be in a home as an only dog, or with other 4-legged seniors to lounge around with. Because of her size and age, she will not do well in a home with small children or younger, active dogs. She would love a home to call her own with a loving family who are happy with a couch potato. Visiting children should be ok, as long as she's given an opportunity to retreat away from high-energy kids.

Dory isn't spayed, however considering her age and the opinion of our vet, that is a surgery we feel is not necessary at this stage of her life. She is current on her vaccinations and microchipped.
