Kimo is a special fellow. He started his life being born at a dog sled tour company in Quebec. He spent 5 years enjoying the thrills of sharing the gift of sledding with tourists. Due to a very bad winter, the tour company was forced to downsize the # of dogs they had. Kimo made the journey along with a number of his fellow team mates to Alberta to find new homes. Kimo was originally placed in a recreational sled team home and he sure had fun. Times changed for that family though and he was recently returned to ASH Rescue to find another home. So here is some info about Kimo......
Kimo is a true, to the core, sled dog that celebrated his 11th birthday on Jan 1/17!! Don't let his age tell you anything, he is always moving! He isn't too comfortable being indoors, he has spent his entire life living outdoors and he does not want to be inside a house..... period. He is a very affectionate dog with people and enjoys spending time with 1 other dog. This is important, Kimo does great with one other dog but NOT with more than 1. We don't quite understand what changes when he's in a pack environment but he does shift when placed in that situation. He has and does enjoy skijoring, although he prefers to be the only dog so he's not held back! In short, Kimo is an athlete and he requires a home that understands this, he will not turn into a couch potato, he will Love you and run with you probably until the day he passes.
