Meet Jax, a 1 1/2-year-old gray Tabby, who lived patiently at Petsmart for a year waiting to be adopted until a Good Sam felt that a foster home would suit him better for a chance at a real home! He's a well-adjusted boy - the unsettled beginnings of his life did not seem to rattle him at all. Jax is great at entertaining himself but would love to have a cat playmate. He currently lives in a house with two cat-friendly Pit Bulls and does great with them, but does not engage in play with them. He really enjoyed playing with the cats at Petsmart, so we are looking for a home with a feline companion. Jax has a laid back personality most of the time, but becomes a track star at about 9am and 9pm which is short lived. He will seek out affection from time to time and becomes super loving if you walk in the kitchen as he feels you are making him something great to eat. He is great at directing his scratching to his scratcher, and loves to gaze out the windows and dream of the adventures he would have. So if you are looking for a simple, happy boy who can be a bit naughty (but not in the destructive way) - he could be the one! (Jax would do best in a home with former cat owners. If there are children in the house we would ask for older children that understand and are respectful or cats.)

About Angel's Heart Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

The primary focus is to rescue a few dogs from animal shelters who are red-listed for no other reason than there are too many dogs in an overpopulated state shelter system, and they simply need more time for someone to notice them. The intent is to locate friendly animals who could otherwise be great family pets if not for the misfortune of being homeless. Angel's Heart also takes in occasional strays but not owner surrenders. We can help by offering suggestions and tips for owners needing to rehome their pet.

Come Meet Our Pets...

The meet and greets are held in the homes of the rescuers and fosters by appointment only. A meet and greet is scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

Our Adoption Process...

There is an application process, a meet and greet, and an adoption fee. Adoption fees are as follows: For dogs age one year or older- $200.00, for dogs 6 months to 11 months - $225.00, for most puppies under the age of 6 months - $250.00 and for certain pure-bred dogs - $300.00-$350.00. All of the rescued dogs are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and fully vaccinated including rabies. Since most of the dogs come from city and county shelters, vet checks, medications, fecal tests, de-wormers, Front-line, and other services are also provided as needed. The adoption fee is considered a donation to the rescued animals within the adoption program of Angel's Heart Dog Rescue. Varying fees provide additional financial support for particular dogs who are harder-to-adopt cases or specialty medical cases. We strive to give you as much information as we can about the animal you wish to adopt by observing his or her behavior in a variety of settings and social situations.
