My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lilly was rescued from Louisiana floods almost 2 years ago. She has been in two trial homes that did not work out for her. Lilly went through HW treatment and is still testing positive on Heartworms due to HW resistance on a fast HW treatment. Yes Lilly is "lucky" to be in a 5 to 10 percent dogs that are resistant to treatment. She is about 8 to 9 years old and is looking for quiet and calm home, preferably without children or children that are older. She is not aggressive dog and she can not hurt anybody due to her jaw being broken. She will act like she is big and brave but in the end she will just get her own butt in the trouble. So the best home for her would be home without any dogs, home with the cat, or home with another small dog. No big dogs or small children. Her jaw does not stop her from eating or drinking. Even thou she does have heartworms and is resistant to treatment she is not having any health issus as of right now and she have to be kept on monthly hw preventive. Also her jaw is not giving her any issues so surgery is not necessary per my vet. She will have her teeth cleaned in Feb and that is sponsored by SDDR. She is up to date on all shots and she is spayed. She is very easy dog to care for and loves her human. If in lap of her favorite human she will tend to snap at the person approaching her... she is just protecting her human and will NOT harm individual approaching. She is dog that weighs 10lb and have broken/dislocated jaw. You will just hear her growl and see her attempting to charge which is harmless. She is fine around my 3 year old and she does not snap at him at all but she has been reported to snap at other children in a trial home she was at. Again my 3 year old is born and raised with dogs so he knows to be gentle. She would be perfect dog for retired couple. Also she can not be adopted in a northern states due to her heartworm condition but she can be adopted anywhere where the hearworms are present in the environment. Lilly is great dog she just needs to find perfect home that will understand her needs and behavior. She is potty trained and crate trained. She does hate cold weather and tend to slack on going outside if it's too cold or raining. She does need to be taken to the vet for her nails to get trimmed since she does not like her paws being touched. She does shed but with proper grooming her shedding should be reduced. Let me know if you are interested in adopting lilly and giving her chance. he adoption fee is $150
