Tux's Story...
Meet Tux! This endearing young boy is simply a joy to get to know. His desire for affection combined with his cautious nature are enough to make your heart burst. Tux will cautiously approach you and let you pet him, which he LOVES, then will skitter away only to shortly return. When you finally gain his complete trust, you will feel like you won the best prize! Tux is alert and curious and talks in soft mews. We are not yet sure how he is with other cats, dogs or kids. As we get to know him, we will let you know. Tux is available and able to have applications submitted once you've met. For more information, please give us a call at (302) 571-0111 or visit Tux at PetSmart in the Brandywine Town Center.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tux, a Wilmington Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
