LuLu's Story...
Lulu is a very sweet 4-5 year old mix who was found in a parking lot. She was very skinny but was very friendly with everyone. A nice lady picked her up and took her to the vet. She is very social and well behaved. She is potty trained and eager to please. She gets along with children, dogs, and cats. She loves to play and go on walks. She is heartworm positive but her foster mom has already started treatment and is on the road to be good as new. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She is current on heartworm and flea preventative. West Houston Animal Rescue has an adoption process that includes an application, vet check, and home visit. Her adoption fee is $150.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

LuLu, a Houston Labrador Retriever/Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Pointer for sale in Houston, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Pointer dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Pointer breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
