Annie is a lover! She loves humans, big and small. She loves bones and treats, so she eats them alone in a crate. She loves to sleep on a bed on the floor in her foster mama's room. She loves to play with other dogs a lot, and will allow a 7 lb Chihuahua to be the boss, or will play with a big dog the way they want too. Annie also loves cats...TOO MUCH. She will fixate on them, and not stop looking at them for anything. Annie cannot live with cats or other small furry critters because of her love for them. Annie loves to get her belly rubbed and to snuggle with her humans. She loves to be a part of the family, to go for walks, or to lay on the couch with them. She really needs to have a fenced yard because she will chase a squirrel or rabbit (or the neighbors cat) if she were to be outside of one, but she doesn't try to jump over the fence at all. Annie is 6 years old, and she is still full of energy which isn't a surprise for these two breeds at times, but is mostly a lay around the house kind of girl. Annie was adopted from a shelter as a puppy, and returned when she was 5. She was then adopted by the family who put a lot of money, effort and time into trying to train her so she could stay in their family with their cat but they just could not. The shelter agreed to allow her to go to a rescue rather than be returned and euthanized at the shelter; a common practice for twice returned dogs at a shelter. Annie deserves a family who will be able to stick by her from now until her natural death, hopefully not until she is 15 or 16...or maybe even more. She deserves to give her love to someone forever. The previous family was heartbroken they couldn't help her stay, they loved her and would love updates if her forever family is willing to share them. They also would be happy to talk to you about their experiences with this lovely pooch. That is how you know this is a wonderful dog. If you have no cats, have another doggy friend who will play, if you will not crate her (she hates the crate), if you have a fenced yard and a forever home for Annie, please contact us! www.arrowdogrescue.org/application to meet her. Her adoption donation is $275, and is paid directly to our vet's office via credit card over the phone or check by mail.

All dogs are fully vetted and healthy at the time of adoption. All of Annie's records including vetting and training are available for you to look at as well. Annie is being fostered in E. Central Illinois with another dog and teenagers. She would love to meet you!

About ARROW Animal Rescue Revolution on Wheels

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a family run no kill foster based dog rescue located in Normal, IL with foster homes all across the state of Illinois. We rescue dogs from animal control and animal shelters in Missouri, Kentucky, Texas, Illinois and Iowa with more states being added all the time. We also accept owner relinquishments. We fully vet all of the dogs in our rescue, place them in loving foster homes, often with other dogs, cats and kids. We find them forever homes through sites like this as well as Facebook, and Petfinder. We have been involved in rescue for 3 years with other rescues but felt that we would have made other decisions when it comes to euthanizing, how dogs were being treated, and the adoption process. We thought we could do a better job. We only euthanize dogs in our rescue if they are in pain or suffering and cannot be helped. We provide training to dogs that need this prior to adoption.

We also have a pet matching service so if you don't see what you are looking for on our rescue page, please message us and we can help you find the perfect pet, have it transported to us, vet it, and make it available for adoption to you!

Our Adoption Process...

All adopters must fill out an application to adopt on our website. We call all references listed including veterinarian, personal, and condo board or landlord, and our goal is to approve application within 5 days. You are welcome to meet any of our dogs in their foster homes once you have an approved application. Since we are a small family run rescue with a few volunteers at times when there is a high volume of applications it may take longer than 5 days to process your application. You are free to contact us at any point at arrowdogrescue@gmail.com to check on the status of your application.

After application is approved, we do a home visit either prior to or at the time of the adoption. Minimum adoption donations is $275 for adults and $350 for puppies 9 months or under. Some dogs have sponsorships by donors which will reduce the cost for the adopter. Payment by Paypal to arrowdogrescue@gmail.com or in cash at the time of the adoption.

There is an adoption contract stipulating that you return the dog to our rescue if for any reason you are not able to keep them. The dog's microchip will be registered to the rescue for the life of the dog. You will be required to keep your pup on heart worm preventative year around.
