OKIE DOKIE!! Here I am, just waiting for the PERFECT family to find me!! My name is Miss Dusty and I am everything a lab puppy is and more. My mom was a chocolate lab and my dad was a black lab which makes me kinda "silver" in color. I will begin by telling you that I already know how to sit, give paw and lay down. BUT, other than that I am CLUELESS!! I will need a family that will take me to behavior classes and work with me to ensure that I not only learn basic doggy manners but that I also get the required amount of exercise a puppy like me requires to stay out of trouble. I may be 70 lbs but I am still a baby!! Which means that I will be picking things up that are not mine, chewing on things other than my own toys, have potty accidents until trained, bark at any little thing, etc... I know, I know it's a lot to take on but I can assure you that if you put the love, time and effort into sculpting me into the loving and playful lab that I know I am, you will not be sorry!! Currently I play relentlessly with both people and dogs. I get overstimulated quickly but and submissive and do not have an aggressive bone in my body. Once I am calmed down, I walk well on a leash and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE playing with toys. I fetch a ball, stick, branch, or anything you may be tossing around!! I am being fostered at Camp Bow Wow which is an awesome place where I get to romp with all the other dogs all day!!! I have my own "cabin" at night when it's time for bed...not gonna lie to you, I bark (loudly) when they put me in there! But once I realize that no one is paying attention to my vocal abilities, I settle down and go to sleep. If you have another dog, he/she would have to be ready for non stop playing!! If you have small children I would not be a fit because I have not learned my "boundaries" and I could hurt them by jumping on them. I love riding in the care but watch out because I have been known to undo seat belts and in my haste to retrieve a roving tennis ball I have even shifted foster mom's car into neutral!!! I will need a strong and dedicated owner that I can count and look to for guidance. It's also important to know that I am very affectionate, I LOVE belly rubs and once exercised out I love to snuggle with my humans as well!! To recap, I am a great gal (who started out life with an irresponsible family) who will need work but will provide smiles, happiness and love!! If you are up for the challenge, fill out that application so we can meet!! love, dusty xoxoxo

Why Adoption is a Great Option

DUSTY**8 MONTHS OLD!!, a Mentor Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Mentor, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Mentor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mentor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mentor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mentor paves the way for another one to be saved.
