Rocky's Story...
Rocky is a four year old German Shepherd/Beagle mix. He is 45 pounds, has had regular vet care. Rocky was adopted 4 years ago from our rescue as a 4 month old pup. The family recently divorced and they couldn't keep him.

Rocky was raised with three kids and is well socialized. He knows some hand signals because some family members were hearing impaired. He likes other dogs and appears to like all people. He rides well in a car. He does OK on leash but will pull if he sees cats, squirrels etc. He likes attention and affection. He does not need to be crated. He has been to doggy daycare and did well.

Rocky misses his family but is fitting in here. We have a dog door and a fenced in yard and he is housebroken. He is a well rounded handsome dog. I am working on how excited he gets when people come to the house. He does jump and wants to play. Rocky is a bit too interested in our cat so no cats please!

Rocky would do well with an active person or family. The jumping would likely be too much for small children/toddlers.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocky, a Avon Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Beagle for sale in Avon, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Beagle dog from a breeder in Avon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Avon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Avon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Beagle breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Avon paves the way for another one to be saved.
