Hi everyone!! My name is Dottie and I’m super excited you’re taking the time to read about me!! I’m 4 years old and am a Basset/Corgi/Doberman my foster mom’s best guess, that is, because I have a long nose but short legs and a super cute curly tail!
I came to Bella because my human parents were getting a divorce and couldn’t keep me or my "brother" Henry, who is also up for adoption through Bella and, we don’t have to be adopted together but how awesome would that be if we were!!! Anyway, since I’ve come to Bella, I’ve learned a lot about love from my foster mom, we snuggle and nap together, and we play fetch. She is show me that I can trust humans, because after being with my other family, then leaving, it was kind of scary and my brother Henry went to a different foster it’s all been a bit overwhelming but I’m learning to come out of my shell!!
I am house broken, as long as you pay attention to my cues that tell you I need to go outside, if you don’t, and I have to go, I have to go ?. I will go outside but would prefer my human go with me, I seem to be a little scared of outside and my foster mom doesn’t know why. So she comes out with me and we play fetch, then I’m a little more comfortable out there. I also don’t mind crates, not my favorite but I’ll go in them if I have to, more about that below.
Some things I LOVE...I love cuddles and I love to hug and kiss you. I also love to play catch with tennis balls!! I’m very good at catching them, I could do it for hours...just ask my foster mom BOL!! We play fetch in the back yard every evening. She says her personal dogs don’t like to play, she will throw it and they just look at her...I say that’s crazy because I love to fetch it!!!! I love almost all toys but I will destuff them, so just be aware, there may be snow storms that come through (with the stuffing everywhere that is...I’m so funny)!! I love to sleep in bed with you but I will also go in a crate if I have to, I may not always like it but I’ll go in and in my foster home, I haven’t really made a peep when I’m in the crate.
Not sure how I feel about cats...they seem sneaky and quick, sometimes when they run by I want to chase them, I’m trying hard to control that urge but sometimes I can’t help it! BOL I’m very friendly and will love everyone but when I first meet humans I’m kind of scared, so just give me a little while to get used to you. I like other dogs but they also scare me a bit at first, even the 6 pound Chihuahua in my foster home scares me. He did not want me there when I first arrived but after a couple of hours, he was much nicer to me, which made me feel very at ease.

About The Bella Foundation

About Our Rescue Group...

Every year thousands of animals are euthanized or sent home to die because the people who love them cannot afford the cost of veterinary care. Stray and abandoned animals have even fewer options when they are brought into a clinic or veterinary office with no owner to pay for their care.

At The Bella Foundation, we believe that every animal should receive the best possible care regardless of the owner's ability to pay. When an owner brings an animal into a clinic for care and cannot afford the cost, the attending veterinarian can contact The Bella Foundation for assistance. If assistance is given, the owner must agree to volunteer at least 8 hours of their time at a local animal shelter. Stray or abandoned animals are cared for with no stipulation attached.

The Bella Foundation takes the placement of animals in homes very seriously and our goal is to do everything possible to match the right animal with the right animal. Our adoption application can be found on our website.
