My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kiera's adoption fee is $350.

It’s true you know – good things come in small packages! My name is Kiera and I am a 7 year old Yorkshire Terrier. I top the scales at a whopping 3-4 pounds. I may be tiny, but I more than make up for it with my outgoing and loving personality.

In my previous home I didn’t go outside at all, so although I consistently use pee pads, learning to go to the bathroom outside is a new experience for me. I’m doing quite well my foster mom says – good for me! I love to hang out with my foster family and cuddle, and I enjoy short walks and car rides. I am too small to jump off furniture or do stairs – someone would need to pick me up and carry me.

I had 14 teeth removed during my dental – I had some others missing before too. I sure feel better with those nasty infected teeth gone! I’ll need regular attention and cleaning for my eyes – they are a bit dry. I’m spayed, up to date on vaccines and am micro chipped.

My foster mom tells me that I’m a “special needs” girl – I always knew I was special! I had an injury which resulted in some nerve damage affecting my ability to walk. I’ve made good progress, though I am unsteady on my feet and may fall over sometimes. I also have head tremors - though when I’m getting brushed (one of my most favorite things!) they stop because I’m enjoying it so much! The vet has said that nerve injuries can take a long time to heal – we’re not sure how much further I will recover. I hope my new guardian will continue to work with me to help improve my balance and stamina – it would sure help us to bond and increase my chances for further recovery. Please don’t feel sorry for me; I love life and am a very happy little pup.

Because of my small size, I’d be best suited for an adult home. I would also be best as an only pet – after all, it should all be about me – I’m a princess you know!

If you think we’d be a good match together, please contact Tiny Paws and tell them Kiera sent you – it could be the start of a special relationship!
