Feliz's Info...

Breed: Domestic Shorthair Color: Brown Tabby Age: Adult
Sex: Female Hair: Short

I am already spayed, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, and good with cats.

Feliz's Story...

Feliz was terrified when Tree House admitted her and her five kittens in the fall of 2003. Due to stomatitis, an inflammatory disease of the mouth, vets extracted all of her teeth in 2006.

This toothless little lady is calmer now but will need a longer-than-average adjustment period when she gets into her new home. When she's comfortable, she'll reveal her sweet and affectionate nature. Her favorite activities include playing with toys and chasing a string.

Feliz is a "cat's cat." She gets along well with other cats and would make a great companion for a single cat who's lonely and longing for a feline pal.

Please visit Feliz at our Bucktown branch at 1629 N. Ashland!

About Our Shelter...
Tree House is a humane organization that promotes the inherent value of every animal and strives to educate the public about proper and responsible animal care, with a focus on the care and placement of stray cats with special physical and emotional needs. We are committed to finding every healthy and treatable animal a home.

Tree House was founded in 1971 and since that time we have expanded and enhanced our programs and services to become the largest, no-kill, cageless shelter for sick, injured, abused and neglected cats in the Chicagoland area. To date we have found homes for nearly 14,000 cats. In addition to our focus on the rehabilitation and adoption of stray cats, we offer many other valuable programs and services, including our Free Spay/Neuter Program, Pet Loss Grief Support Group, Humane Investigations Team, Youth Volunteer Program, Animal-Assisted Therapy, Behavior Hotline, Pet Food Pantry, and Education Outreach Program.

Our Adoption Process...
At Tree House, trained adoption counselors interview prospective adopters to understand their needs, and then adopters are escorted to the Adoption Floor to choose their future friend. Adopters are encouraged to take as much time as they need to find a cat. All adoption applications stay on file for three months so please don't feel that you need to rush to choose a companion cat right away.

Your adoption fee of $85 covers the cost of your cat's care at Tree House including: spay or neuter, deworming, flea treatment, FIV and FeLV testing, AVID microchip, veterinary examination, and all necessary vaccinations. We also give a 30-day health guarantee on all of our adoptions.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS

* A photo I.D.
* A second I.D. with current address and phone number (we recommend a phone bill).
* If you rent, we need your landlord's name and phone number, or a copy of your lease stating that you are allowed to have cats.
* All children under 12 in the household are required to be present for the entire adoption process.
