Crisco's Story...
Crisco is my name but I have also gone by Frisco in one of my previous homes. When I came in the folks here started calling me Crisco and it stuck! I promise to answer to anything you call me since I am ready to purr my way into your heart and home! I found myself here at the shelter after my owner pass away I am a senior fellow looking for a soft spot to rest my paw. As a member of the Super Senior club I get assigned a Super Power and mine is "relaxation" how can you not feel calmer when hanging out with a mellow fellow like me?! I lived in a home with dogs and I was very stressed out, so I am looking for a home with no canine siblings. Looking to give an older gent a warm place to call his own? Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold. To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information, we encourage you to visit our shelter in person. Due to the high volume of interest, email and phone inquiries may not be returned on a daily basis. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! www.capeannanimalaid.org 978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Crisco, a Gloucester Domestic Mediumhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair cat from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
