Tilly's Story...
Tilly here! Pleased to meet you! I am a sweet older lady looking for a family to care for me for the rest of my days. I am about 8 years old, which makes me a Super Senior and my superpower is Gaze of Enchantment. I have a bit of a sad beginning to my story...I was left outside by my owners after they no longer wanted me. I was cold, alone and scared but a nice human decided to take me in and care for me. After a quick visit to the vet, I was brought here so I could find my new family. I am a sweet lady and the folks here think I will make a great snuggling companion once I settle into my new home. I seem to prefer a quieter routine and would probably do best as an only or with other mellow cats to share with. So what do you say? Are you ready to take a chance on life long love with me? Then stop by and visit with me today!

Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold. To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information, we encourage you to visit our shelter in person. Due to the high volume of interest, email and phone inquiries may not be returned on a daily basis. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! www.capeannanimalaid.org 978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tilly, a Gloucester Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
