Julie is an incredibly beautiful 1 year old red and white pit mix. She has perfect little white boots on her feet and an adorable white stripe running from her sweet little forehead to her cute little pink nose. She is a little on the smaller size for a pit mix which makes her the perfect size for everything! Perfect to hug, perfect to sit on your lap, perfect to cuddle, perfect to ride in the car, just PERFECT! Julie is still young and has not had the benefit of having as much training as she wishes she has. She had a pretty rough start in life when she was dumped to fend for herself at a very young age. She was lucky enough to be saved from the streets and now she is ready for a whole new life! Although Julie didn't get a lot of school in when she was younger, she is incredibly smart and LOVES to learn new things. Since moving to her foster home Julie has learned a LOT!! Julie does great in her crate, is housebroken and knows how to use the doggy door! These were things she didn't know how to do when she came to live at her foster mom's house! This shows how INCREDIBLY SMART and willing she is to learn. Julie learned to "sit" in just a few minutes and she is learning new commands, and games every day. And Julie always, ALWAYS comes the first time her foster mom calls her when she is outside playing. No matter how much fun she is having outside, she comes right in the house and settles down to the lesson or activity that is planned for her. Julie is good on the leash when out for walks but she needs a little more practice with the "sitting" and the "staying" when strange dogs come around. Julie just wants to meet everybody...and wiggle! The way to this cuties heart is with a yummy treat, a good belly rub and lots of reassurance. Julie has a very common (and incredibly loving) trait of the pit in which she wants to be wherever you are. She wants to love on you, wants to be cuddled and told she is beautiful. :) You know how happy she is to see you when she gives you her full body wiggle. It is the cutest thing ever, she is just SO darn cute! She was pretty skinny when she got to the shelter so since she has been in foster care we are working on gaining some weight and making that beautiful coat even more gorgeous. In time she is going to grow into an incredibly beautiful dog that is SO full of love and has fulfilled her greatest potential. For that she needs the right human or family to show her the way.

 Providing medical care to neglected, abused, and injured animals through our outreach efforts;
