My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Billy is an utterly adorable and responsive, rough and tumble, four-month-old, 25-pound, Black Lab/Schnauzer-mix puppy looking for a dog-experienced guardian.

This little guy landed at Richland Animal Control in Olney, Illinois. I’m not sure why, but I know that puppies are a lot of work.

He is a happy, fun, playful pup who loves everyone he meets. He’s a blank slate waiting for a dog-lover to take him under their wing to love him, train him and give him plenty of exercise.

He already has excellent eye contact, an “auto-sit” and comes running to me when called.

Billy is working on his crate-training and house-breaking. He’s also working on walking nicely on leash. He gets rave reviews from my neighbors who think he’s the cutest puppy ever!

Because puppies have sharp teeth and claws, he is not recommended for young children. He’d be fine with adults, and teenagers who are willing to help in the training process.

He will do best in a home with an active dog to play with and model his behavior after.

Billy is healthy, up-to-date on vaccines, and treated with flea and worm preventative. He will be neutered by the rescue at the appropriate age.

To meet and possibly adopt Billy, please contact Sheri at sheri@petraits.com for an adoption application. His adoption fee of $300 benefits rescued dogs. He is being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
