Billy's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Billy's Story...
Billy is an utterly adorable and responsive, rough and tumble, four-month-old, 25-pound, Black Lab/Schnauzer-mix puppy looking for a dog-experienced guardian.

This little guy landed at Richland Animal Control in Olney, Illinois. I’m not sure why, but I know that puppies are a lot of work.

He is a happy, fun, playful pup who loves everyone he meets. He’s a blank slate waiting for a dog-lover to take him under their wing to love him, train him and give him plenty of exercise.

He already has excellent eye contact, an “auto-sit” and comes running to me when called.

Billy is working on his crate-training and house-breaking. He’s also working on walking nicely on leash. He gets rave reviews from my neighbors who think he’s the cutest puppy ever!

Because puppies have sharp teeth and claws, he is not recommended for young children. He’d be fine with adults, and teenagers who are willing to help in the training process.

He will do best in a home with an active dog to play with and model his behavior after.

Billy is healthy, up-to-date on vaccines, and treated with flea and worm preventative. He will be neutered by the rescue at the appropriate age.

To meet and possibly adopt Billy, please contact Sheri at sheri@petraits.com for an adoption application. His adoption fee of $300 benefits rescued dogs. He is being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Billy, a Chicago Schnauzer (Miniature)/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Labrador Retriever for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature)/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature)/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
