UPDATE: "Hi, I'm Ruby! My foster mom says I must have been given that name because I'm a perfect gem. I was born a southern belle, but moved up north after a rough start to life. I've put the past behind me and am acclimating quite nicely to the sophisticated city life. I'm told that I'm pretty perfect on a leash. I don't pull and I have no issues with other dogs. Sometimes big street noises scare me a little, but I'm beginning to get better at that. My foster mom was very happy to learn that I'm house trained (what kind of animal does she think I am, going inside, I never!!). When foster mom works I stay in my crate and eat my kong toys. I also sleep in my crate at night, no problems! I have a foster dog sister about my size and I love her. I also met my foster dog cousins, they're little and I'm cool with them too. Did I tell you 'bout my foster cat brother? Well, he likes to jump on me and stuff and I just ignore him. Sometimes I give him kisses. No one ever taught me any tricks or commands, but foster mom is trying. She says she's confident I'll learn soon since I'm so highly food motivated. Speaking of food, I have no issues guarding food or toys. And, I love all people, even the kiddos. Anyway, I'm just looking for my amazing forever home to give all my love that I've been saving in my big heart all these years (only about 3). Maybe it's with you??"
Sweet Ruby came to an Alabama shelter pregnant and ready to pop; unfortunately our beautiful girl miscarried. She stayed in Alabama getting the medical care she needed after the miscarriage and is now healthy and making her way to NYC. Ruby is a 3 year old boxer/hound mix and she can't wait to find a forever family to give her all of the love she deserves. Great with everyone and all animals (except chickens) Ruby will be perfect for any home. Apply now to make her dreams of finding a family come true!
Ruby is up to date on her medical, spayed, and full grown at 50 pounds.
