My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Eddie is a spunky little 2-year-old Chihuahua mix with an adorable underbite. Eddie thinks his foster Dogmom is just the best thing ever put on this earth. Oh, he has his doggy interests—running around the backyard terrorizing the chickens, grabbing a stuffed toy and shaking the bejesus out of it, chasing after a ball (again and again and again and again and. . .). But his very favorite thing to do is to turn Dogmom into a big, cushy dog chair. If she is sitting, sure enough Eddie is perched somewhere on her—legs, belly, shoulders; he’s not picky. If she is sleeping, Eddie is snuggled up against her neck to keep her warm. Eddie is a very loyal dog.

Eddie has his inside manners down. He is house-trained. He does not chew. At home, he’s not overly barky. He’s just noisy enough to alert you to possible intruders and the occasional squirrel scampering up a tree. He is crate-trained. He is not destructive.

Eddie loves people—all people. He charmed his way out of the shelter and into one of our foster homes using his considerable doggy wiles. While Eddie is young and very energetic, he does not require you to be energetic. In fact, he’d prefer that you stay seated on the couch so he can come bouncing up at any time to avail himself of your soft, cushy features, and maybe get a tummy rub into the bargain.

If Eddie has a spurt of energy—he is, after all, still a young dog—he jumps off of Dogmom, runs around the living room three times, then jumps back onto Dogmom to see if she missed him during the 30 seconds he was gone.

Eddie would do great in a home with a couple of rambunctious kids. But he’d do equally well with a quiet single person. Eddie is the perfect companion for people who want to love and laugh with a dog.

General Notes:
Our adoption fee is $225. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, current on shots, heartworm-tested and microchipped.
