Adopt Peppers! Peppers is a gorgeous 10 month old Cattle Dog mix looking for an experienced, dedicated home. Peppers has many wonderful qualities but also some challenges to finding the right home. Peppers is all teenager and a barrel of laughs- she loves to run, play fetch, and explore new toys. She will play fetch with a tennis ball, stuffed toy, you name it! She is very receptive to training and loves to learn new things- especially when treats are involved! She knows sit, and appears to be house trained. Peppers is very energetic and so will need an active owner who can give her plenty of exercise (physical and mental!). Peppers' play style can be very rambunctious and mouthy, and she will need a dedicated owner that can continue to teach her more appropriate ways of interacting. Peppers can be very nervous and stressed by strangers, and it can take her some time to feel comfortable with new people. Her ideal home would be a relatively quiet, but active, home with no kids and not a lot of visitors. She also seems to enjoy running and playing with other dogs. Peppers needs a home without cats. Peppers seems more uncomfortable with men than women. She is making progress with meeting new people and feeling comfortable in new places, but still has a way to go. She needs a home (no apartments please) with a big, fully fenced yard so that she can get lots of exercise without having to go out and meet strangers. KHS' trainer will go over all of her training and behavior needs and provide post-adoption support as she settles into her new home. In the right home Peppers will make a wonderful companion- could that be you?! If you're interested in adopting, please email sfairweather@kitsap-humane.org for more information and to request an adoption application. Because Peppers has some special behavior needs, meet and greets are by appointment only.

About Kitsap Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

Kitsap Humane Society is a private, nonprofit animal shelter. We rescue and rehome over 6000 pets each year. Every animal leaves here spayed or neutered and with complete vaccines and a microchip. We have been caring for animals in need since 1908 and envision a time when all adoptable pets have loving homes.

We are extremely proud of our exceptionally high “lives saved” rate of over 95%. Through our active adoption, behavior, foster, transfer, and veterinary programs, we are able to rehome every adoptable animal that enters our facility. No animal is ever euthanized for lack of space.

In addition to caring for and adopting animals, we also provide spay/neuter services to low income residents of Kitsap County, and provide Animal Rescue and Enforcement services to our surrounding municipalities.
