Hi there, I'm Dixie. I'm a young (under 3yo) boxer/hound mix. My foster mom has this to say about me: "As far as fosters go she is a 10. She is so sweet, and she loves human touch. I was told she was a hyper energetic young dog. She does get excited when she meets new people but hyper is a real stretch. ( I may be a poor judge as my last foster was a Border Collie). I can say with confidence that she is good with dogs, cats and kids. She survived the snow storm stuck in the house with 4 cats, 3 dogs and 3 kids including a 4 year old. As long as she can be with you she is happy. She is housebroken. We are working on her leash manners but she learns quickly!" I mean, if my foster mom has all of those wonderful things to say about me, I should get scooped up fast, right?! Don't wait, send in an adoption application TODAY!

Remember that my place in foster care holds up a spot that another needy fur baby could have, so please don't pass me up! If you are interested in meeting me, please go to and submit an adoption application.

My adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, Lyme/heartworm testing upon admission (treatment if needed), monthly heartworm and intestinal parasite preventive until adoption, monthly flea and tick preventative until adoption, a lifetime microchip registration, over $450 in coupons to Petsmart, grooming and training coupons and a free veterinary exam at participating providers!

About Our Rescue Group...

Our Mission
Protecting Animal Welfare and Safety through rescuing, sheltering, adoption, education, and population management.

Who is Tanner’s Paws?
Tanner’s P.A.W.S. was founded in memory of Tanner, a 4-legged Labrador Retriever who lost his battle to cancer on March 4th, 2011. One year later, Tanner’s P.A.W.S. held their first board meeting on March 12, 2012. Now officially a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization following the no-kill philosophy, Tanner’s P.A.W.S. is dedicated to the care and safety of local animals. We are determined to establish relationships and work closely with area dog control officers, shelters, SPCAs and other rescues who share in our passion. After all, we all share the ultimate goal… to save as many lives as we possibly can.
