My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Evie is a gorgeous 5 year old Cane Corso that we were lucky enough to save from the shelter. She was over-bred and then discarded when she was no longer able to have puppies. As you can see in her shelter picture, her nails were very overgrown, and she was very sad there. She was diagnosed with moderate heart worms, but we are happy to say that she is now heart worm negative! Now the only thing she will have to look forward to is being included as a member of a family rather than being used as a way to make money.

She needs an adoptive family that is willing to help her get over being shy and make her feel welcome in a stable and loving environment. She has a small bit of separation anxiety which her foster mom feels will pass with continued routine and hugs. She is crate trained and working on basic obedience and leash skills since she hasn't had much experience with these types of things in the past. She currently lives with other dogs, and gets along great with cats, kids, and even chickens! She definitely requires a fenced yard and another fur baby as a friend to keep her company. If you are interested in Evie or any of our other dogs, please feel free to email us at: info@bullpenrescue.org.

We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. The adoption app is available on our website (www.bullpenrescue.org) under the 'work with us' tab. If you choose not to fill out an application before inquiring about a particular dog, please briefly tell us about yourself, family, and lifestyle since this will help us determine if the dog you’re interested in is a good match.

Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a “perfect placement” so we know that they will not be failed again.
